We were asked to put together a 6 day trip to include the best chance to see a bare headed Guinea Fowl and to visit Tiwai Island. Our research included finding an expert bird watcher in Sierra Leone. We were lucky enough to find a brilliant bird watcher Kenneth M. Gbenggba who has an office situated along Lumley Beach Road.He runs Fact Finding Bird Tours and specialises in taking groups of people on bird watching tours here. He has also worked extensively in West Africa and he really does know about birds here and in neighbouring countries.

We all had a meeting and decided together on a good itinery. We had the task of organising the logistics of the whole 6 day event. The plan was as follows: Day 1 Guma valley Dam western peninsular rain forrest with lunch at Number Two River for sea birds Day 2 Banana Island Day 3 Travel to and early evening on Tiwai island Day 4 Tiwai Island including evening canoe ride on the river Day 5 Travel back to Freetown Day 6 Western peninsular rainforrest from Regent side by the Chimpanzee sanctuary. So far so good. Diary to follow.
